Tough Day

Today was a really difficult one, at work. This placed a lot on my mind and I didn't think I was going to get my writing completely done. But I truly amazed myself and completed my 3,000 words. I cheated a bit, though. I had to break away from any dialog and jump into a narrative (which always goes faster). I'm glad that tommorrow will see me break away from the 20's to past the 30,000 mark. This is a good thing.

It's a very good thing.

Personally, I find dialog easier to write than descriptions and the like. Runs quicker, and less messing around.

I think I can attribute that to my HP Lovecraft background. I find it easier to build mounting horror ala Zadok Allen's tale in "The Shadow Over Innsmouth". Whenever I do just straight dialog between characters, I find myself beginning to ramble. Plus, I like showing things instead of characters bantering with each other. This is difficult with me, since my dialog actually is of a higher quality than my descriptions.
